Tim Horrell competes in GTC Race 2024 with W&S Motorsport and PARAVAN

W&S Motorsport, PARAVAN GmbH and Tim Horrell are continuing their collaboration and will participate in the GTC Race 2024 with an inclusive racing project. As in the previous year, the paraplegic American will drive a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport specially adapted to his needs and compete as an individual driver. W&S Motorsport has already supported many projects together with the vehicle pioneers from the Swabian Alb, which specialises in adapting automobiles for people with physical disabilities.

Horrell, who had a car accident at the age of 21 and has been paralysed from the waist down ever since, will operate the vehicle by hand using a throttle ring installed on the steering wheel and a brake lever. Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas' team revised the system during the winter break with the support of PARAVAN GmbH and have already completed several test drives.

In his debut season in the GTC Race last year, Horrell showed impressive development and was quickly able to adapt to the Porsche Cayman GT4, which was customised to his needs. This experience should help him to fight for victories and podium places in the GT4 class in the coming season and lay the foundations for higher GT4 racing series.

Patrick Wagner, Team Principal W&S Motorsport: "We are delighted to be able to continue our project with Tim and PARAVAN. We used the winter to adapt the system even better to the driver's needs and the test drives were very promising. Tim showed impressive development last season and delivered strong races. We are proud to be working together again this season and to continue to accompany him on his motorsport journey!"

Roland Arnold, Managing Director of PARAVAN GmbH: "In his first GTC Race season, Tim has shown that a physical impairment does not have to be a handicap in competition. Thanks to technical adaptations, it is possible to compete on an equal footing - with or without a disability. The results last year show this. We are delighted that Tim Horrell is getting into the cockpit again this year and wish him every success."

Tim Horrell, Driver W&S Motorsport: "I am delighted to be competing in the GTC Race with W&S Motorsport for the second year in a row. This season I will be driving solo to get more track time and take the next step as a driver. With the continued support of PARAVAN and a first-class team from W&S Motorsport behind me, I am looking forward to a successful year."
