W&S Motorsport teams up with ISKRA Motorsport in the GT4 European Series

The W&S Motorsport racing team will contest the 2022 GT4 European Series season together with ISKRA Motorsport. The winning team of the Cayman GT4 Trophy by Manthey-Racing will be using the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. The squad of Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas is very experienced with Porsche Cayman vehicles and has already successfully entered them on the Nordschleife (NLS), in the GTC Race and in the ADAC GT4 Germany. In ten guest starts in the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2021, W&S Motorsport clinched one pole position, four top-10 results and one second, one third and one fourth place.

The goal of the cooperation with the racing team from Russia is to gather experience and data in order to implement this knowledge at national races in Russia. The drivers Andrey Solukovtsev and Mikhail Loboda will compete in the Am class of the GT4 European Series. Professional racing driver Nicolaj Møller Madsen will support them as a coach.

The GT4 European Series, organised by SRO Motorsports Group, is held at six circuits across Europe and is an international championship sanctioned by the FIA. GT4 cars from up to ten international manufacturers will compete, guaranteeing exciting racing with drivers at the highest international level. The participation in the GT4 European Series is a further step by W&S Motorsport in the expansion of its motorsport programme.

Daniel Schellhaas, Team Principal of W&S Motorsport: "We are very excited to be working with Nicolaj Møller Madsen and ISKRA Motorsport in the GT4 European Series and we hope that this will be the start of a successful long-term partnership. We will support Andrey Solukovtsev and Mikhail Loboda to develop as drivers and gain experience on European circuits. Our goal is to regularly finish on the podium in the AM class and give ISKRA Motorsport as much input as possible so that their team can also fight for victories in Russian racing series."

Racing professional Møller Madsen can refer to many successes in different GT3 and GT4 racing series such as the Blancpain GT Series and the VLN and became champion of the ADAC GT4 Germany in 2020. With W&S Motorsport, he achieved two podium finishes at the guest start in the ADAC GT4 Germany at the Nürburgring in 2021. The 29-year-old Dane will support the two drivers with his valuable knowledge as a coach during preparation and at the race events.

Nicolaj Møller Madsen: "I am very much looking forward to this season with W&S Motorsport and ISKRA Motorsport in the GT4 European Series. Our mission will be to develop the drivers but also the team to be able to win races. Our goal for the season is to win in the AM class of the GT4 European Series and we will work hard to achieve it. I raced in this championship for six years and won races. It makes me happy that I can use my experience as a pro driver to develop our new project and help to bring the team forward."

Kirill Budovskiy, Team Principal of ISKRA Motorsport: "ISKRA Motorsport is very happy about the partnership with W&S Motorsport, one of the leading European racing teams, and Nicolaj Møller Madsen, a top-level driver coach. We are all aiming for the same goal: to win races and to develop as a team. Andrey Solukovtsev and Mikhail Loboda are highly motivated to bring out the maximum of our Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. We are looking forward to this season!"

Andrey Solukovtsev: "Last year, I competed in GT4 European Series in Monza for the first time and I am very happy that we will race the full season in this championship this year. Together with Mikhail Loboda we will be first Russian driver crew who will contest in the GT4 European Series. I am very excited about our partnership with W&S Motorsport, ISKRA Motorsport and Nicolaj Møller Madsen being our coach. I am confident that with the support of such a great team we can make good progress during the season and try to compete for good results."

Mikhail Loboda: "I am glad to be back to racing in a European championship for a full season. It is a great honour for me to be racing for W&S Motorsport and ISKRA Motorsport this season, sharing a cockpit with Andrey Solukovtsev. We did not compete in many races in Europe so far, therefore, most of the tracks are new for us. But we are training on the simulator to be prepared for the season the best possible way. Even if it will be our debut year in the GT4 European Series, we want to race at the front and fight for the podium."

W&S Motorsport intends to enter another car in the GT4 European Series. Further details and the driver line-up will be announced in due course.
