Comeback for the ADAC GT4 Germany season finale at Hockenheim: Lukas Schreier will be team-mate of Finn Zulauf at AVIA W&S Motorsport

Lukas Schreier joins AVIA W&S Motorsport for the final two rounds of the ADAC GT4 Germany season at the Hockenheimring and will drive the AVIA racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport #31 alongside Finn Zulauf. The 27-year-old from Leipzig is no stranger to the team: he already competed with W&S Motorsport at Hockenheim and the Nürburgring in 2021 and even climbed onto the podium twice at the finale in the Eifel. He replaces Nicolaj Møller Madsen, who will not contest the race for private reasons.

Lukas Schreier looks back on a long career that began in karting in 2008. Since 2014, Schreier has raced in the ADAC GT Masters, Porsche Mobil1 Supercup, Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland, the 24h Series, as well as in endurance racing at the Nürburgring, and has already enjoyed great success. The Donauwörth-born instructor now lives in his adopted home of Leipzig. In 2021, he drove the Space Drive Cayman from Schaeffler Paravan for W&S Motorsport in the last two races of the ADAC GT4 Germany season. At the Nürburgring, he finished the two races in positions three and two.

The qualifying for Saturday's ADAC GT4 Germany race will be held from 10:55 - 11:15 local time. The start for the penultimate race of the season over 60 minutes will be in the afternoon at 16:45. Sunday's grid positions will then be decided from 9:30 - 9:50, before the final race at 15:40 will be a one-hour contest for the final points of the year and title decider. All the action on track can be followed on the livestream with livetiming at www.adac.de/motorsport

Quotes before the race

Daniel Schellhaas, Team Principal W&S Motorsport: "I am very happy to welcome Lukas back to our team! We have fond memories of our joint successes last year. He is a fast and consistent driver and with his experience he will support Finn to finish his season in the ADAC GT4 Germany with a top result in the junior classification."

Lukas Schreier, Driver #31: "I would like to thank Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas for the opportunity and the trust they have once again placed in me. The 2021 entries with such a professional team as W&S Motorsport were a lot of fun and rewarded with podium finishes, also thanks to the perfect preparation of the race car. To compete alongside Finn is great! He is a strong and highly talented young driver. I will do my best so that we can build on last year's podiums again at the Hockenheimring and he can finish the season accordingly well as a junior."
