W&S Motorsport to compete in GT4 Winter Series 2025

W&S Motorsport is going full throttle again this winter and, as in the previous year, will be competing in the GT4 Winter Series (GT4WS) 2025. The SRO-licensed racing series has been held as an official GT4 championship as part of the GT Winter Series with GT3 cars since the 2024 season. With homologated GT4 cars with the SRO BoP and tyres from official partner Pirelli, the GT4WS is the perfect racing series to prepare for a season such as the ADAC GT4 Germany, GT4 European Series and GTC Race.

The team of Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas would like to offer interested junior drivers, amateurs, beginners and also professional racing drivers the opportunity for perfect preparation for the season and will enter its Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport at the five racing events in Portugal and Spain. There is also the opportunity to take part in the test days only and get to know the car and team as part of a taster day.

For aspiring drivers who want to switch from karting to GT racing, it is the perfect preparation for their first season in a GT4 racing car and the ideal complement to training at the W&S Motorsport Academy. Here, the academy participants are trained in the racing simulator and in a workshop, including the key points of physical and mental fitness, nutrition, learning the data and video analysis tools, media and management training.

The GT4WS is also interesting for drivers on the Nordschleife to keep fit and develop further during the non-racing period. For the first time, two 6-hour races will also be held in Portimao and Barcelona in 2025. These two events do not count towards the GT4WS championship, but are scored separately. Interested endurance drivers can take part, but endurance newcomers can also demonstrate their talent in longer stints.

In the GT4WS, two qualifying sessions, two 30-minute sprint races and one one-hour endurance race are held per race weekend. Drivers with gold, silver and bronze status can take part and it is possible to contest the races as a single starter or as a driver duo. All races will be broadcast in a free livestream. The top three drivers in the championship will also receive prize money, which is a further incentive and can be used for the season budget in the ADAC GT4 Germany or GT4 European Series. The champion receives prize money of €50,000, the runner-up in the championship €25,000 and the third-place finisher €10,000. In addition, participation in private test days with approx. 120 - 150 minutes of driving time per day in the immediate run-up to the GT4WS events is optional.

In 2024, W&S Motorsport regular drivers Max Kronberg and Josef Knopp took part in the GT4WS and used the winter period to prepare for the upcoming season.

Daniel Schellhaas, Team Principal W&S Motorsport: “We are looking forward to competing in the GT4 Winter Series again in 2025. We were already in action in Spain at the beginning of the year and it paid off. Josef Knopp completed his first race laps in the Porsche Cayman GT4 in the GT4WS and was able to optimally prepare for the season in the ADAC GT4 Germany with us. Together with his team-mate Finn Zulauf, he has already clinched several victories and podium finishes there and his participation in the GT4WS has certainly helped Josef to quickly adapt to the car. The GT4WS is the perfect platform for juniors, amateurs and beginners to get used to the car, the way the team works and the tyres. We also provide support in the form of professional data analysis, coaching and preparation on our own racing simulator. This is the ideal package to be successful in the 2025 season!”
